A $27,212.50 custom development project was successfully delivered to a client with Seedly as the foundational building block, about 60 hours of development time (which is not needed for 90% of people that are just looking for a CRM, but we customized Seedly to be an AI powered operating system) and $200-300 of Claude Code credits
Yes, this review is long and not your "normal review". Even though I'm an early buyer, I wanted to wait until I had time to put Seedly and the team behind it, through the fire a bit and let my initial excitement of the purchase wear off. It's real and hopefully will help someone with a decision. And Andrew himself will tell some of you that the decision should be to NOT by Seedly if you're not a good fit.
In my opinion, Andrew has over delivered. As an early buyer, he shipped more updates than were promised and makes himself regularly available during weekly group calls or via private message. While you in no way need to be a technical, you have to be willing to learn some ai coding fundamentals and not be looking for a "push button" no effort solutions. I'll break down my pros and cons later in this review.
Backstory: We had a client referred to us whose needs we originally thought could be served using our white label GHL crm. After better understanding their needs even the usual GHL hacks and customizations weren't going to cut it. I've worked with contract developers, but hadn't fully committed to hiring an on staff developer, but as most know the end of 2025/beginning of 2026 with Opus 4.5/4.6 software development as we know it took a turn. We built the first version of the client deliverable via Google Appscripts because the client in deeply integrated in the Google Workspace ecosystem. It was satisfactory until the situation arrived where we needed multiple locations with various users levels and permissions where Google Apprscripts limitations became apparent. The success of the first deliverable created demand and needs that couldn't be fulfilled the same way. And there was a time crunch to deliver the new platform in the shortest amount of time possible.
We had already begun custom coding the operating system scratch, but the timeline pressure forced us to consider other options. And that's what led us to Seedly. The codebase was well documented and AI Agent friendly and security has been taken as a foundational component, not an afterthought as in many "vibe coded" products. It's not perfect, but neither is your favorite investor backed software option on the market. But the beauty of owning the source code is you can tweak or change whatever you don't like to create your version of perfect.
I hadn't originally planned on moving clients from any of the GHL accounts that I own or help manage, but after the experience with the custom project I originally purchased Seedly for, I'm going to build a more traditional CRM version as Seedly was originally intended and begin transitioning as many as possible.
Pros: Ownership and complete control. Don't have to be a software developer and it's no as hard "experts" want you to think it is to scare you away. The creator is using this product to serve his own clients. He's not just a "seller of software". AI Agent friendly codebase which makes a difference when you plan to have AI assist your development. Human friendly codebase if you want to have a human developer or contractor code or do any security audits on your behalf. Access to support.
Cons: You don't just "log in" and you're ready to go. More responsibility on you (but the issues with other vendors were still ultimately on me, I just didn't have any control). If you're not technical, you'll have to learn a few new skills. The owner is sometimes referred to as "mean" online because he's opinionated and doesn't always deliver his feelings with the highest form of people skills (in my experience he means well, will help you when you need and wants to do things right. And I'm not overly sensitive).
Bottom Line: If you're ready for more control, to actually customize your own software platform (as I think looking at Seedly as just a crm is a bit limiting) and to embrace what I believe is the future of development, you should check Seedly out. The time and money you'll save even if you just use portions of the code base I think makes it worth it. And if you're concerned about "but how will you handle scaling", the code structure can manage it and by the time that would be close to an issue for you, you'll have plenty of money to hire human developers to help you with that.
