Getting Started
First steps after logging in - navigate the dashboard, understand key concepts, and set up your workspace.
Welcome to the Seedly CRM beta. This page covers what to do after your first login and the core concepts you need to know.
Signing In
When you receive your invitation email, click the link to create your account. Once you sign in, you land on the dashboard - the central hub of your workspace.
If you were invited to a specific sub-account, you are already scoped to that account and can start working immediately. Agency-level users can switch between sub-accounts using the sidebar switcher.
The Dashboard
The sidebar on the left is your primary navigation. Here are the main modules:
| Module | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Contacts | Your client database - people and companies, with custom fields, tags, segments, and activity timelines |
| Conversations | Unified inbox for SMS, email, Gmail, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram DMs - all channels in one place |
| Pipelines | Visual kanban boards for tracking opportunities through sales stages |
| Campaigns | Email and SMS marketing - build sequences, target segments, track engagement |
| Workflows | Visual automation builder - trigger actions based on events, conditions, and schedules |
| Forms | Drag-and-drop form builder for lead capture, with embedding and public links |
| Calendar | Appointment types, booking links, and scheduling management |
| Invoices | Create and send invoices, estimates, and recurring billing |
| Documents | Document templates with e-signature collection |
| Reporting | Dashboards and charts for contacts, pipelines, campaigns, and team performance |
| Settings | Sub-accounts, users, roles, integrations, tags, custom fields, and more |
Key Concepts
Sub-Accounts
Each sub-account is an isolated client workspace. Your contacts, conversations, pipelines, and all other data live within a sub-account. If you manage multiple clients, each gets their own sub-account with completely separate data. See the Sub-Account Setup Guide for details.
Roles and Permissions
Access is controlled by roles. Each role defines what a user can see and do across 30+ modules. There are four built-in system roles (Agency Owner, Brand Admin, Sub-Account Admin, Sub-Account User) and you can create unlimited custom roles. See the Sub-Account Setup Guide for the full breakdown.
Real-Time Updates
Everything in Seedly CRM updates in real time. When a contact replies to an SMS, when someone moves an opportunity on the kanban board, when a workflow completes - every connected user sees the change instantly. There is no refresh button because you never need one.
Integrations
To send messages, you need at least one communication channel connected. SMS, email, Gmail, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram are all supported. See the Integration Setup Guide for how to connect each channel.
Recommended First Steps
1. Connect Your Channels
Go to Settings → Integrations and connect the communication channels you plan to use. At minimum, connect an email provider so you can send messages.
2. Create a Contact
Go to Contacts and click Create Contact. Add a name, email, and phone number. This gives you someone to test messaging, pipelines, and workflows with.
3. Send a Test Message
Go to Conversations, find your test contact, and send a message through one of your connected channels. Verify that messages send and display correctly.
4. Set Up a Pipeline
Go to Pipelines and create your first pipeline with a few stages. Add an opportunity for your test contact. Try dragging it between stages on the kanban board.
5. Build a Workflow
Go to Workflows and create a simple automation - for example, send a welcome email when a new contact is created. This tests the automation engine end to end.
6. Explore Settings
Browse Settings to configure tags, custom fields, email signatures, notification preferences, and other options that shape your workspace.
